Mind-body tools that help children heal and thrive

Comfort Kits for Children® provides evidence-informed kits with mind-body toys and playful instructions to help children re-regulate after traumatic experiences, from disaster and displacement to illness and loss.

What's Inside a Comfort Kit

Each Comfort Kit is a carefully assembled collection of small items paired with guided Comfort Mind-Body Practices — playful, evidence-informed instructions designed to help children self-regulate and find calm. The kits build on decades of research in pediatric mind-body medicine, originally developed at Children's Hospital of Minnesota.

Simple to build. Powerful to give.

Comfort Kits are designed so that anyone — volunteers, schools, faith organizations, NGOs — can assemble and distribute them.

01

Gather the items

Each kit includes finger puppets, soap bubbles, a stress ball, crayons, a blank journal, biodots, stickers, and a pre-folded decorative box, all tucked inside a canvas tote.

A printed pamphlet of the Comfort Mind-Body Practices is included in every kit, available in English, Spanish, Ukrainian, and Turkish.

Distribute with care

Kits work best when an adult caregiver uses them with a child. Video guides for each Comfort Mind-Body Practice walk adults through every activity step by step.
